Pabst Blue Ribbon now comes in soap form, Victory Brewing's Philadelphia taproom is temporarily closed after a health inspection, and PBR is offering a $20,000 reward for a stolen truckload of beer. The new Craft Beer Republic episode, "Eau de Pabst," also brings back Poop Beer Gate, a ChatGPT bottle shop hunt gone wrong, and Greg's pitch for making craft beer fun again.

PBR and Dr. Squatch Make Beer Soap

PBR teamed up with Dr. Squatch on the Blue Ribbon Breeze bar, a soap with a scent inspired by Milwaukee lake days. It sells for $8, or $22.80 for a three-pack.

Greg tries to sell him on it. Flex, who grew up around Milwaukee and has smelled plenty of PBR the morning after a party, is going to pass.

Victory Brewing's Philly Taproom Temporarily Closes

Victory Brewing's Philadelphia taproom temporarily closed after city health officials found mice, roaches and other sanitation issues during an inspection. There's no word yet on when it will reopen.

Flex, who works in food retail, points out that pest control visits every couple of weeks are standard, and that mice usually mean something has been going wrong for a while.

PBR Offers $20,000 for a Stolen Truckload of Beer

Pabst CEO Greg Dubow says someone stole a full truckload of PBR in California, 1,602 cases in all, and the company put up a $20,000 reward to get it back. Police connected two August thefts at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center in Montclair, including one where a subcontractor used fake paperwork.

The haul included 196 cases of non-alcoholic Old Milwaukee, which Greg and Flex are happy to let the thieves keep. The bigger mystery for both of them is where you even hide that much beer.

Poop Beer Gate: The Hot Dog Water Wheat Beer

Poop Beer Gate continues with listener Matt's nomination for the Mount Rushmore of terrible beer: a wheat beer that tasted like hot dog water. Four guys tried it, and no one finished it.

ChatGPT Is Not Your Beer Sherpa

Greg has been hunting for decent beer near his work hotel, and ChatGPT has twice sent him somewhere useless, including a bottle shop where he wondered whether he and his car were safe.

On the brighter side, Deb and Brian's visit to Captain Fatty's gives Greg an idea for making craft beer fun again: talk to customers, hand out a splash, blend a couple of beers together, and stop assuming everyone already knows what they want. Then there's the Trader Joe's cashier who says he drinks for free at Enegren Brewing, despite being unable to pronounce Enegren.

Wyoming DUI Suspect Hasn't Had Enough

Police in Gillette, Wyoming, found a 62-year-old man in his Ford Edge, parked at an intersection with the doors open. When officers asked how much he'd been drinking, his answer was "not enough."

Beers We're Drinking

Greg: Smog City Brewing Watt Strike What

Greg is drinking Watt Strike What from Smog City Brewing, a 6.3% hazy IPA with plenty of citrus and tropical fruit that earns a rare Smog City thumbs-up.

Flex: Young Blood Beer Company Ford F***ing Ranger

Flex is drinking Ford F***ing Ranger from Young Blood Beer Company, a 6.5% West Coast IPA dry hopped with Comet and Idaho 7. The pour looked like sewer water, but the beer drank juicy and dry, so Flex suspects a bad can.
