Bottle Logic and The Bruery join forces as The Bruery Group, Alaskan Brewing turns 40 with a 40-pack, and a fitness company wins the Rogue Ales auction for $2.82 million. The new Craft Beer Republic episode, "A Bar in Every Park," also covers Lost Coast Brewery going up for sale, Greg's surprise trip to Portugal, and the craft beer habits listeners miss most.

Bottle Logic and The Bruery Form The Bruery Group

Anaheim's Bottle Logic Brewing is partnering with The Bruery and its sibling brand Offshoot Beer Co. to form The Bruery Group, a shared services platform built to scale a sales organization in a post-Covid market.

Greg and Flex plan to each grab a Bottle Logic beer for a future episode.

Alaskan Brewing Turns 40

Juneau's Alaskan Brewing is celebrating four decades with a limited-edition 40-pack featuring ten signature beers. Flex remembers a buddy's dad always having Alaskan around, while Greg recalls a pumpkin beer, possibly an Alaskan one, that left him one of the sickest he's ever been.

Rogue Fitness Wins the Rogue Ales Auction

Colter Ventures, the parent company of Columbus, Ohio based Rogue Fitness, placed the winning $2.82 million bid for Rogue Ales and Spirits intellectual property, according to a trustee's report. The deal includes the rogue.com domain, the proprietary Pac-Man yeast strain, and the Rogue and Dead Guy trademarks.

Flex knows Rogue Fitness well. He owns one of their barbells. Now the question is whether they just wanted the domain or plan to do something with the beer.

Lost Coast Brewery Is Officially for Sale

Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka, California, is officially for sale after its founder announced plans to retire. An auction of the brewery's equipment and intellectual property was set to open October 14. The facility can produce 300,000 barrels a year, while its distribution volume sits around 50,000 barrels.

A Hurricane, a Backup Trip and a Bar in Every Park

A hurricane flooded Greg's hotel in Kauai, so he planned a backup trip to Portugal in about a week. In Lisbon, the little kiosks in the parks look like information booths and turn out to be bars, which leads Flex to name Portugal the Wisconsin of Europe.

What Listeners Miss About Craft Beer

Listeners wrote in about the craft beer things they miss most, including beer trades, black IPAs and growlers. Greg calls growlers the worst vessel for your beer, even though Russian River growlers still sit on a shelf in his kitchen.

White Sox Player's Honest Locker Room Interview

White Sox star Munetaka Murakami skipped the translator for his postgame locker room interview, where his English came down mostly to "I'm drunk." Greg and Flex call it pure joy for a team that just ended a long playoff drought.

Beers We're Drinking

Flex: Hop Butcher for the World Dese, Dem & Dose

Flex went shopping for a hazy and came home with Dese, Dem & Dose from Hop Butcher for the World, a 6.7% IPA that pours clear and nearly disappeared before the review.

Greg: Super Bock

Greg is drinking Super Bock, a 5.2% lager from Portugal that's extremely crushable on a hot day.
